Uproar Festival in Tampa, 2010

One of the summer’s biggest traveling rock shows, the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival is hitting the road again this summer. For heavy rock fans in the central Florida area, mark September 3rd on your calendar and check the Uproar Festival website for ticketing information later today. The event will again be held at the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheatre and should be a lot of fun.

Heading the mainstage lineup,  Avenged Sevenfold is joined by  Three Days Grace, Seether, Bullet For My Valentine and Escape The Fate while the Best Buy Music Gear Stage features Sevendust plus Black Tide, Art Of Dying and The Black Cloud Collective.

I have it on good authority that guitar legend Jeff Beck is scheduled to perform at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida on May 7th. It hasn’t been announced yet, but I’m confident in my source. Sorry that I can’t tell you where I heard it; I’ve said too much already.

Polaroid has teamed up with Sting on his new CD/DVD, Live in Berlin, featuring the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. They have launched a contest to give Sting fans first access to exclusive video footage from his Symphonicity tour and a chance to win Polaroid 300 Instant Cameras.

On December 8, Polaroid will be airing an exclusive interview with Sting on his Facebook Page where fans can enter to win one of 30 Polaroid 300 Instant Cameras.

Classic, progressive rock band Styx is slated to begin it’s Grand Illusion / Pieces of Eight tour in Evansville, In on October 14th. Styx fans should check out the merch table for a new EP from the band titled Regenerations, Vol. 1. It’s a six-song EP of classic Styx songs, recorded by the current band line-up, with a bonus track “Difference in the World”. I was lucky enough to hear a few cuts in advance of the tour and they sound awesome. Styx fans will love these as much as the original recordings and newer fans will recognize the new line-up in the songs.
